Good Morning. Good Night. 2020, 30”x40”, acrylic on canvas

I started this window painting during the pandemic while in self-isolation at home. It was inspired by the mass-produced 'window view' poster my mom used to put on my wall. The blue, framed in the high-positioned window, welcomed my vision while simultaneously excluding my touch. As a connection and slice of the inside and outside, this window was enticing yet prohibitive. People often find vulnerability in solitude, yet loneliness serves as a motivation to observe, to meditate and to self-explore.
